1. What is palm oil?

Palm oil is a kind of edible vegetable oil, extracted from palm pulp. In the beginning, it came from oil palm in Africa. Later, it also came from oil palm in the United States.

2. How many products can be made from palm oil?

There are two main oils from oil palm. The oil extracted from palm pulp is called crude oil and is well known as red palm oil. After refining, including deacidification, decolorization, and deodorization, refined palm oil can be obtained. It can be used as cooking oil or cooking oil. In order to be used in other industries, fractionation machines are used to obtain olein and glyceryl stearate. The olein will become edible oil. Glyceryl stearate is shipped to other industries.

3. What are the products containing palm oil?

a> Butter substitute: As a raw material, many processed foods contain palm oil. The highly saturated properties of palm oil make it solid in temperate regions at long temperatures, making it an inexpensive substitute for butter, and it is also desirable to make solid fats, such as pastry dough and baked goods.

b>Fatty acids: split oils and hydrolyzed fats, or saponified under basic conditions, fatty acids and glycerol (glycerol) are by-products.

c>Biodiesel: Palm oil can be used to produce biodiesel, also known as palm oil methyl ester. Palm oil biodiesel is made by the process of transesterification. Biodiesel is made from palm oil, which can replace part of diesel.
